Dutch Beginner Course II (A 1.2)

10-Week Course: Saturdays at 11:00pm (ET)

  • Started Oct 2
  • 279 US dollars
  • Online (via Zoom)

Class Description

This level is for anyone who has already had some experience with the Dutch language, and who knows the basics and can introduce themselves using the present tense and the negation with 'niet' and 'geen'. In this course, you will learn how to order food, ask about prices and how to read a recipe. You will further learn how to talk about your preferences using the comparative and superlative and how to give instructions using the imperative. We will further practice speaking about habits and daily routines. Please note that there will be no class on Saturday, November 27 due to our Thanksgiving break. We have very small class sizes with a maximum of 5 students per class. That way, we ensure that all course participants receive a lot of one-on-one attention, so the class can be tailored to our students' needs. This enables our students to learn the language very fast and efficiently. We pursue a conversational approach in all our classes to get our students to speak the language confidently as quickly as possible. When learning a language, it is crucial to actually practice speaking the language to be prepared for conversations in real life situations. This can be achieved best in an intimate class setting with few students as each student benefits from having lots of time to speak in class. The course fee of $279 covers all the costs - 10 classes à 1.5 hours, the coursebook and the registration fee. We offer an Early Bird Discount of $50 (USD) for everyone signing up by September 6 (Labor Day). Please use the discount code EARLYBIRD. Students currently enrolled at a college or university can use the Coupon Code STUDENTS to receive a 20%-discount. We will request proof from everyone using the code. All online language courses are held via Zoom and we would ask you to install the Zoom desktop app before the class. You will receive the link within 24 hours before the course starts. After successfully completing the class, we offer to provide a certificate of completion upon request. We are committed to offering follow-up courses for all our students who wish to continue taking the next higher course level. Our courses always start in January, April, July and October.
