English Language Course for Expats I

Class Description

"I appreciate it", "let's touch base next week", "looking forward to hearing from you" - these are phrases that Americans use on a daily basis but that we often do not learn in school. This course is designed by expats for (soon-to-be-) expats and we will teach you everything we wish we would have known before coming to the US. It is perfect for those who have learned English in school and are planning to move to or study in the US and for expats who recently came here. We will learn and practice expressions that you should have ready in everyday situations: when speaking with the cashier, when ordering food at a restaurant, when writing emails or speaking on the phone, when you need to (politely) complain, when speaking with your boss and when making new friends. We will learn phrasal verbs, participle phrases, euphemisms and idioms. We will discuss cultural differences that are reflected through the language. Being aware of those differences will make your start in the US much easier and prevent many misunderstandings. This course will provide a detailed guide on how to express yourself in both social and business settings and help you to get off to a great start to your new life in the US! The course fee of $279 covers everything (10 classes + registration fee + all the course material which will be available for you to download in Google Classrooms). There are no hidden costs. Additionally, everyone signing up by January 3 may use the discount code EARLYBIRD to receive a $50-discount. Students currently enrolled in college/university and au-pairs may use the Coupon Code STUDENTS to receive a 30%-discount when signing up by January 3, and a 20% discount after that. We will request proof of everyone using the student code. The class will be taught via Zoom and we recommend to install the Zoom desktop client. You will receive the Zoom link within 24 hours before the course starts.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel, please contact us at least 8 days before the class start to be eligible for a full refund. In most cases, it will not be possible to receive a refund or credit after that. To be able to keep our class sizes small and course fees low, we need our customers to stick to their reservation.
