French Adv. Beginner Course I (A 2.1)

Class Description

To register for this level, you should be familiar with the present and past tense (both passé composé and imparfait) as well as the futur simple. In this level, you will learn the the plus-que-parfait and the conditionnel présent to be able to speak about intentions and hypothetical situations. We will further start with the subjonctif to learn how to express sentiments, feelings and hesitations. We aim to achieve a greater variety of our sentence structures, i.a. by using pronouns such as "y", "en" as well as the relative pronouns ce qui, ce que, à qui, avec qui, lequel etc. In this level, we will also practice speaking and focus especially on expressing emotions and wishes, giving advice, speaking in a professional setting and describing journeys and places. We have very small class sizes with a max. of 5 students per class. That way, we ensure that all course participants receive a lot of one-on-one attention, so the class can be tailored to our students' needs. This enables our students to learn the language very fast and efficiently. We pursue a conversational approach in all our classes to get our students to speak the language confidently as quickly as possible. When learning a language, it is crucial to actually practice speaking the language to be prepared for conversations in real life situations. This can be achieved best in an intimate class setting with few students as each student benefits from having lots of time to speak in class. The course fee of $279 covers all the costs - 10 classes à 1.5 hours, the coursebook and the registration fee. We offer an Early Bird Discount of $50 (USD) for everyone signing up by April 20. We will request proof from everyone using the codes. All online language courses are held via Zoom and we would ask you to install the Zoom desktop app before the class. You will receive the link within 24 hours before the course starts. After successfully completing the class, we offer to provide a certificate of completion upon request. We are committed to offering follow-up courses for all our students who wish to continue taking the next higher course level. Our courses always start in January, April and October.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel, please contact us at least 8 days before the class start to be eligible for a full refund. In most cases, it will not be possible to receive a refund or credit after that. To be able to keep our class sizes small and course fees low, we need our customers to stick to their reservation.
